I begged Barry Rose to let me attend in some fashion; if a custodian was on vacation, walking demo for fat fluckers, whatever. I've had the privilege of being booked on a couple, sneaked into one or two, and now accepted an offer to guard a table with stuff for sale on it. As long as there are no edibles, it's safe from me as well. These fan gatherings should also be called fun fests. The good humor and collective common interest make for instant comradeship and enjoyment. I doubt if even one person, perhaps shy or withdrawn in nature, who doesn't instantly feel at home and among friends, and will soon be feeling a lot more comfortable being around people who share their interests and enthusiasm. I've never met or seen one person there who wasn't enjoying themselves. I look forward to seeing those of you who have reached out via Facebook or email, it will be an honor to meet you in person and show my appreciation. Attend or not, please stay safe and well.
